Daijiworld News Network - Bantwal (GA)

Bantwal, Feb 18: With every such incident, the intelligent lot of the district say that it is the right time to wake up and face the atrocities meted out in the name of religion and religious practices.  Every time a person hailing from a minority religion is attacked, people say that such kind of things should be put to an end to.

But nothing has happened except that such incidents have increased by leaps and bounds in the last couple of years.  Just a couple of days ago a restaurant was ransacked on the pretext of serving beef dishes by a group of activists belonging to some fundamental Hindu organizations.

Now another similar incident has been reported from Baddakatte wherein a group representing some fundamental Hindu organization ransacked a restaurant and injured 2 persons for serving beef.

The group of 30 persons stormed into a restaurant run by Alak Badruddin (42) of Kelaginapet and ransacked the entire place supposedly for serving beef dishes.  The group also assaulted Badruddin and Latif (37) for the same.  The furniture and utensils in the eating house have been badly damaged in the attack.

The same group also pelted stones at a fancy shop, which is situated close to the said hotel.

The town police have registered a case against Lacchu alias Laxman, Santu alias Santosh and Krishna of Kabbinhitlu in this regard.
