Mumbai, Feb 15: The ninth Goregaon Vicharbharati Conference organized by Goregaon Karnataka Sangh was held at the Durgadevi Saraf Trust auditorium of Rajasthani Sammelan here.

Sadanand D Nayak, working president of R S Cooperative Bank, main sponsors of the programme, inaugurated the conference. Noted writer Kum Veerabhadrappa presided over the conference.

R S Devadiga, president of the Goregaon Karnataka Sangh felicitated the earlier presidents of the association while Surendra S Salian compered the programme.

During the first session, on Journalism, A S Navada delivered the introductory speech.  Prakash Bhat was the chief guest.  B P Basavaraj, editor of 'Mayoora' and B M Bashir of 'Varta Bharati' daily delivered lectures on topics "Editor' and 'Readers' respectively.

The second session was about Akashvani, which was graced by Ratna J Salian as chief guest.  Balkrishna Nidvannaya delivered the introductory note.  Dr Vasantkumar Perla and Ravi Ra Anchan delivered lectures on topics 'Comperes' and 'Listeners' respectively.

The third session was about 'Small Screen' (TV) for which Sumitra Gujaran was the chief guest.  Dr Sanjiv Shetty delivered the introductory note.  During the session while Jayant Kaykini spoke on 'Comperes', Jyoti Guruprasad delivered lecture on 'Viewers.'

Dr Vishwanath H K was the chief guest at the valedictory ceremony, which was presided over by K Veerabhadrappa.  R S Devadiga delivered the introductory note and Lakshmi R Shetty compered the programme.
