Moodbidri, Feb 14: A fire brigade siren warned this temple town of a prospective disaster around 10-00 am on Tuesday, when an Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) leakage was detected in a restaurant in Badriya Hotel near Syndicate Bank at Nagarakatte junction.

The fire-fighters, assisted by the restaurant owner Ammakka and locals, rushed into the restaurant and plugged the leak, thus preventing a major fire hazard in town. There was every possiblity of the gas leaking into the entire area which would have caused a disaster.
