Udupi, Feb 13: One person was killed and one more was seriously injured when a goods tempo rammed into a scooter at Gujjarbettu near Kemmannu here on Saturday February 11.
The deceased has been identified as Shafi (30), a resident of Hoode near Kemmannu here. He along with one Rafiq (22) were on their way to Kemman on the scooter, when the goods tempo driven by their relative Imtiaz rammed into their scooter.
As a result Shafi and Rafiq were thrown on to the road and sustained serious injuries. They were then admitted to KMC Hospital at Manipal. But Shafi succumbed to the injuries on Sunday February 12 afternoon. Rafique is still fighting for life in the KMC Hospital.
A complaint has been filed by one Siraj in the Malpe police station in this regard.
