Dubai, Feb 11: Parishioners of Belman based in the U.A.E. gathered with unity and solidarity, and celebrated their anniversary ‘Belman Varshikotsav’ with a spirit of companionship and joyfulness.  The full-day event was held at Dubai’s President Hotel (Maharlika Hall).


A few dances, skit and games were the main attraction of ‘Belman Varshikotsav’. Taking the centre stage to entertain the gathering with their scintillating singing and music were ‘Rhythms’, the very popular Konkani music band of the town.  Dony Correa, the compere beyond compare did wonderfully well to keep the crowd in a festive mood, with the emcee’s wonderful skills and attractive words.



The event kicked off with a prayer song ‘Gaitha Kalliz Mojem’ sung by the music band.  Senora, a talented girl from Belman performed a prayer dance.  A stage programme was held, which was compered by Avinash Saldanha.  Noel Mascarenhas, leader and main coordinator of SMKC was invited as chief guest. Arthur D’Souza, main sponsor of ‘Belman Varshikotsav’ was also present on the dais.  Vincent D’Mello, Belman Zomath president accompanied.



 

Ivan D’Souza welcomed the gathering whereas Pius D’Cruz proposed vote of thanks.  The event then witnessed wonderful Konkani, Tulu and Hindi songs by Dinesh, Asha and Dony of ‘Rhythms’ band.  Many entertaining spot games and contests too added good flavour to the programme. Housie and other contests too were held with attractive prizes. Around 200 parishioners and neighbours attented this delightful day event.
