Light rains expected in Delhi on Janmashtami


New Delhi, Aug 28 (IANS): The skies will be partly cloudy and some parts of the capital will get light rains Wednesday as the city celebrates Janmashtami - the birthday of Lord Krishna.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the day's maximum temperature will hover around 35 degrees Celsius.

The morning was sunny and warm and the minimum temperature settled a notch above average at 26.5 degrees Celsius.

The weather Tuesday remained muggy. The maximum temperature settled two notches above average at 35.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum was two notches above average at 27.6 degrees Celsius.

Since the arrival of the monsoon, the city has recorded 762.6 mm of rainfall.
