Seven killed in Bengal bus accident


Kolkata, Aug 27 (IANS): At least seven people were killed and over 50 injured Tuesday after the bus they were travelling in overturned in West Bengal, police said.

The accident happened near Panagarh in Burdwan district, some 150 km from Kolkata, when the driver of the overloaded bus tried to overtake another vehicle, police said.

"Seven people were killed and 50 people injured. The condition of a few is serious," Superintendent of Police S.M.H Meerza said.
