Friends, you will see these types of cruel actions increasing tremendously in India. I believe, all r wondering why this even after laws and systematic education. You believe it or not know this "the EVIL SPIRIT of LUST is using people who are not vested with the "POWER OF GOD" to commit rape and then bleed them to death, because it needs lust and blood. You will understand it well if analyse this taking into account the time, seriousness& manner and comments from those committed the crime. This is closely related to the last book in the BIBLE-The Revelation . Secondly it is proving the prophecy by a man of God, saying Lawlessness will greatly increase in India in the year 2013. He had also prophesied world over floods, earthquakes and part of a nation will go under waters I.e what happened in Uttarakhand-PROPHESIES 2013:WWW.KARUNASADAN.IN(for people it is a natural calamity, but for God a spiritual reason behind it:earth is groaning for the Revelation of the REAL GOD)Therefore, we as good citizens of India along with our best reason to stop crime must also PRAY to the REAL GOD in your heart(not the one created by your hands&imagination, not a RELIGIOUS GOD but the God who created you to worship Him in SPIRIT and TRUTH alone)WE MUST NOT FORGET THAT WE ARE SPIRITUAL BEINGS TOO AND WE CANNOT FIGHT THE EVIL-SUPERNATURAL POWERS WITH OUR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL STRENGHT.THROUGH PRAYER(TRUE WORSHIP)GOD COVERS PEOPLE WITH PROTECTION AND PEACE. SO LET US PRAY:LOVING GOD FILL EVERY CITIZEN OF OUR BELOVED NATION INDIA WITH YOUR POWER/HOLY SPIRIT THAT MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS MAY NOT FALL INTO THE TRAP OF THE EVIL POWERS.

Fifth accused Salim Ansari caught in Delhi had planned to slip away to Bangladesh as confessed by him after being caught by Delhi Police. This proves that he is a native of Bangladesh.
Which means - what Raj Thackrey says is true, that there are many illegal Bangla migrants in Mumbai. This may be true about Bangalore also.

In our society the problem is that, we have done such a poor job of addressing rape, no parent in their right mind is going to send their daughter out into the world, unprepared. It stands to reason, then, that society must address the actual problem before we go jumping on anyone for trying to protect those that they love. A two pronged attack is necessary in the short term – one where we continue to teach women how to avoid rape – while at the same time, teaching men not to perpetrate rape.
It needs to begin in the home, with parents who teach their boys to respect women, not objectify or subjugate them. It should carry on in the schools, where the problem is openly debated, and the ramifications of rape are laid bare for all to see. As adults, we should have constant reminders of these lessons in the workplace and via news and television media.
Until such lessons have been taught, and until such a time as women have no reason to fear situations that men take for granted, we have no other option but to continue teaching women how to avoid being raped.
However, we also need to teach women that they do not deserve to be raped that no matter what the circumstances, no man has the right to force himself on a woman. We, as a society, are responsible for ensuring that victims stop blaming themselves – because we taught them how to avoid being raped – but didn’t teach the rapists anything.
One in three women in America experience sexual assault in their lifetime.[citation needed] Rape is a horrible thing to experience. Once it happens to you, you don't want to tell anyone, because you are afraid. Or you think people will think less of you after you tell them. While these attacks are not the fault of the victim, you can take some precautionary measures to keep yourself safe.

A two pronged method is necessary to decrease the rape incidents:
One, we should continue to teach women how to avoid rape and second, we should teach men not to perpetrate rape.
Always remember 12 steps to avoid rape:
If you feel uncomfortable in someone's company, avoid being secluded with them.
Take a friend if you are going to a party or other event in a strange place or inform your friend to check about your whereabouts after certain time.
Date rapists can lace drinks with flavorless chemicals, and don't accept an open drink from a stranger.
If you're going on a jog, walking in lonely place or at odd hours, always go in group.
Be aware of people in the area, ahead and behind you. Avoid head-phone/hat.
Avoid poorly lit areas, or areas with minimal escape routes.
Carry pepper spray or a similar item for emergency self-defense.
    Learn basic self-defense moves.
Move with confidence. Someone who looks purposeful and physically capable is a less appealing target.
If you know that someone is following you, turn and ask them the time. Get a good look at their face and overall appearance. Attackers prefer to target victims who haven't seen their face.
    Struggle and yell if attacked.
Understand that rape isn't just committed by strangers, but by friends, relatives, and even colleagues, as well.

Well said Mark. The police have nabbed them all but the justice should be given by the public...else...ages will take by the time the victim might be committing suicide....handover the barbarians to the public and let them teach a lesson so the others may know....if they touch women whom they not supposed to touch what happens?

Court should rule the capital punishment to all the five accused.

A woman is not safe even in the broad light, that too in a city like Mumbai! Anyway, police have done a wonderful job nabbing all the criminals. Please expose their evil and rotten faces to the public.

I read somewhere the grandmother of one of the victims claimed that her grandson is a minor. Come on, you shut up granny, your care and upbringing of the boy was worse and the result is right in front of you.

Hope all the five receive exemplary punishment.

The criminal culprits combination of four plus one notorious gang. All the five must be stoned to death. Mumbai Police have acted in James Bond style and they are just too good. Many a times our political bureaucracy downplays the system and as such police are made scape goats. This time Mumbai Police on target.

True women/girls much take precautions but then how much precaution should a women/girls take ? Even with all the precautions we still see that nothing stops such monsters committing such acts.

Unless there is the fear of definite and very severe punishment such crimes will not lessen.

Now how fast is the case is taken up and how fast the punishment meted out. Yes life imprisonment or death sentence will be a very lenient sentence for the culprits. Either they should be castrated or Acid poured on their tools - so they live in shame in society incapable of using their tools ever again.

That is the quality of Mumbai Police. If they seriously wants to act, they could catch the accused even if he/she is hiding underwater. But, for corruption, they are the worst. With a cup of tea or piece of Beedi can buy some of them.
