Dubai, Feb 4: Lourdes Kanajar Association of Emirates held its 6th annual general body meeting on the 3rd February 2006 to present its annual report and to elect a new committee for the current year. The meeting was organized in the form of an outdoor get-together and nearly 60 Kanajarians gathered on this occasion at Dubai’s Creek Park located in Bur-Dubai.

The meeting started with a prayer by Thomas Sequeira, outgoing President of LKAE followed by few introductory games lined up for the day. The most important event being electing new Office-bearers for the current year, this was conducted by none other than Sequeira himself.

The team will be headed by one of the most experienced Kanajarians, Lawrence D’Souza who had actively participated in the formation of Kanajarians Association in Kuwait and has served as a President of KWAK in the past years. Lawrence is a successful entrepreneur.


The newly elected committee is as below:

President:  Lawrence D’Souza
Vice-President: Thomas Saldanha
Gen. Secretary: Alwyn D’Souza
Treasurer:  Joy D’Souza
Cultural Secretary: Melwyn Mendonca  
Sports Secretary: Aloysius D’Souza
