Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh-Maharashtra holds fifth AGM

Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangh – Maharashtra convened their fifth annual general body meeting at Samarasa Bhavan, Karnataka Sangh, Matunga (West) here on Sunday August 13. 

President Chandrashekar Palethady presided over the meeting.

Chandrashekar in his presidential address said, "The proposed construction of Patrakartara Bhavan is more appropriate to be called as journalists health abode. We have plans to have group insurance coverage to all members with utmost health concern along with constructing Patrakartara Bhavan. We trust it would be boon to our members in the future. The key objective of Kannada Patrakartara Sangh is striving for the progress of journalist, with due emphasis on helping the members in great need.”

Chandrashekar further said that the journalists have no caste, because journalism is their religion. The Sangh hopes to convene the coming annual general body meeting at their new building next year. It calls for all journalists to strive for the progress of each other, he appealed.

Senior journalist advocate Vasant S Kalakoti, Shiva M Shetty Mudigere, Bantaravani – Monthly editor Ratnakar R Shetty were felicitated for pooling funds towards construction of Patrakartara Bhavan.

Dr Suresh S Rao Kateel, chartered accountant I R Shetty, advocate Kadandale Parari Prakash L Shetty, chartered accountant Ulluruguttu Shankar M Shetty, Dr R K Shetty (LIC) were also honoured on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Sangh general secretary Rons Bantwal urged the fellow journalists to show their unity by actively joining in the health drive. He appealed them to contribute their mite towards realizing the dream of building Patrakartara Bhavan at the earliest. He also presented the annual accounts.

The sports committee executive president Jaya C Poojary was present at the dais.

The executive committee members Janardhan S Puriya and Gurudut S Poonja, advocate Vasant Kalakoti, Premanand R Kukyan, Naveen K Inna commended the ambitious plan of the Sangh in constructing Patrakartara Bhavan and pooling resources for health fund.

The executive committee members Babu K.Belchada, Savita S Shetty, K N Suresh, Shyam M Hande and Lawrence Coelho were present on the occasion.

Condolences were offered to professor Dr Sanjeev Shetty, Bheeshmacharya of Kannada during the programme.

The Sangh vice president Daya Sagar Chowta welcomed the gathering. Joint secretary Premanat B Shetty Mundkoor and joint treasurer Pilar Suresh Acharya presented the minutes. Savita S Shetty gave vote of thanks.
