Shravanabelagola, Feb 2: In a communication to Daijiworld, the Amateur Radio centre set up here on the occasion of Mahamastakabhisheka of Bhagwan Bahubali, has expressed happiness that the news report posted on this website is being picked by Ham operators from different countries, with the last one received from Sofia, Bulgaria.

It is for the very first time Amateur (Ham) Radio is working from Shravanabelogola with unique callsign AT6MM from January 22 and it will be in operation until February 25, 2006.

As on Thursdya, Februasy 2, 2006, the centre has made  nearly 1000 contacts with 85 countries. Most of the contacts are on Morse Code (CW), with just 3 people operating, viz.,  VU2UR, VU2LX and VU2JHM. They are expecting more contacts as the band conditions improve.

On Thursday, February 2, they are on digital mode.  Echolink is VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) where computer is connected to wireless and Internet which Ham Radio Repeaters are able to be contacted and the Message of Peace from Shravanabelogola is spread on the occasion of Mahamastabhisheka.
