Mangalore, Feb 2: M A Bhaskarachar has been appointed deputy chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) by the Indian government.  He took charge on Wednesday February 1 here.

Bhaskarachar is a commerce graduate and a fellow of ICWAI and an MBA. Prior to his transfer to NMPT he was the deputy chairman of Kolkata Port Trust for the last 4 years.

He had joined the port sector as FA&CAO at NMPT in the year 1993.  From then he has served at the various capacities in the port sector and holds a lot of experience in the same.
