Young to miss England's friendly against Scotland

London, Aug 12 (IANS): Manchester United winger Ashley Young will miss England's friendly against Scotland Wednesday due to an ankle injury.

Young has withdrawn from the England's squad after failing to recover from the injury, reports Xinhua.

"Manchester United forward Ashley Young has withdrawn from the England squad," said the Football Association (FA) in a statement Sunday.

"Following discussions between England medical staff and their counterparts at the club, it was clear Young would not be ready for the match with Scotland Wednesday."
