Mangalore, Feb 2: Former president of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, Dr Vaman Nandavar has been elected to chair the Bantwal Taluk Literary conference to be held on Saturday February 11 and Sunday February 12.  The literary conference will be held at Nandavar.

This was announced by president of Dakshina Kannada district Sahitya Parishat president, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura here.

Dr Vaman Nandavar is a big name both in Kannada and Tulu literature.  His writings such as Panikate, Onjikope Katekulu, Beera, Tuluvere Kusel Kusel, Ole Pataki etc in Tulu have been very popular.  His contribution to the Kannada literary world too is noteworthy.  He has written a research book on "Koti Chennaya - A Folklore Study".  Other than this, he has also written books such as Talamela, Singadana, Pattanga, Sir James Frazer in Kannada.
