Rs.50,000 prize for each Haryana girl who won bronze


New Delhi, Aug 10 (IANS): Hockey Haryana Saturday announced a cash prize of Rs.50,000 to each of its five Indian girls who won a bronze medal at the Junior Women's Hockey World Cup in Monchengladbach, Germany.

Congratulating all the five players, Hockey Haryana president M.L. Tayal said, "It is a proud moment for the country and especially Haryana as five of our players have performed exceptionally well in the World Cup."

The five players -- Rani Rampal, Navjot Kaur, Manjeet Kaur, Navneet Kaur and Poonam Rani -- will be given the cash award Aug 29 (National Sports Day) in Shahbad, Haryana, on the final day of the Haryana State Hockey Championship.
