Mangalore, Feb 1: "Ovi Darshan", a programme of ‘ovios’ (traditional Konkani songs sung during wedding celebrations) produced by Basti Visions will be telecast on Bangalore Doordarshan's "Chandana" channel on two days in the first week of February 2006.

The programme titled "Ovi Darshan" will be telecast on Chandana channel on Thursday February 2 (part 1) and Friday February 3 (part 2).  The programme will be telecast from 8 in the night on both days.

The programme has been directed by noted Kannada and Konkani researcher Dr Jyotsna Kamat while Akashvani senior artiste Anuradha Dhareshwar, Dharwad has scored the music.  Well-known Konkani and Kannada singer Puttur Narasimha Nayak has rendered technical expertise.

The programme has been sponsored by Corporation Bank.  A press release also said that owing to the DTH technology the programme could be viewed through Chandana channel even in Maharashtra, Kerala, Goa and Gulf countries.
