Mangalore, Jan 31: A young woman died owing to burn injuries at Kateel near Kinnigoly here on Monday January 30 night.
The deceased Rohini (38) was a native of Tokkottu but was residing at Kateel due to her work there. She was a daily wageworker. On Sunday night she was cooking when fire suddenly spread to the kerosene can which was nearby. Within no time her nylon saree too caught fire, owing to which she sustained serious burn injuries.
She was immediately admitted to the hospital with more than 90% burn injuries. However, she succumbed to the injuries on Monday night.
A complaint has been filed in the Bajpe police station in this regard.
