German cyclist Zabel admits to doping


Berlin, Jul 29 (IANS): Former German cyclist Erik Zabel has admitted to using performance-enhanced substances during his career.

Zabel, a six-time best sprinter of the Tour de France, said he used EPO, cortisone and even blood doping from 1996-2004, reports Xinhua.

The 43-year-old, who retired in 2008, had previously admitted in 2007 that he used EPO in 1996.
