Dubai, Jan 26: Daiji Dubai - a forum of Konkani writers in the emirates will celebrate its re-scheduled seventh anniversary on April 21, 2006 in the  Emirates English-speaking School premises, situated opposite Safa park, Gate No. 1.
 
Initially the program was announced on January 20, but on account of the sad demise of Dubai ruler Sheikh Maktoom, the programme was re-scheduled.

Hemacharya, convener of writers' forum, while releasing the new date to daijiworld said, "We sincerely regret the inconvience caused by the postponement of the programme. At the same time, we hope April is an ideal time and after Easter I am sure people look forward to some top-class Konkani entertainment programme.
 
Ever since its inception, Daijidubai has been organizing its anniversary every year. The forum is also trying to give the audience something new related to Konkani tradition and language.


 
On the occasion of its seventh anniversary, Daijidubai has arranged a Mandd Sobhann event led by the revolutionary visionary of Konkani, Eric Ozario, and his team members. Eric and his wife along with Ananda Prasanna and Manoj George, the instrumental artistes, will be flown in all the way from Mangalore and Bangalore.
 
Noted, young singing talent Rony D`Cunha is also participating in this event. It is after a gap of many years that he will be participating in a Mandd Sobhann programmed.
 
Rony D`Cunha was one of the key singers of the group in initial years, after Mandd Sobhann was launched in the mid-1980s.
 
Dr Rashmi Fernades and Ritesh Kiran who are already in Dubai also are a part of Mandd Sonhan. Alwyn Fernandes, renowned music director of Sandalwood and Bollywood fame, and, moreover, the man behind the sensational music of recently released album 'Dini Dini',  will direct the music for the Mandd Sobhann event
 
Dayan D`Souza, main coordinator of the entertainment team of Daijidubai annual event, is setting up an entertainment programme for April 21.
 
As a main feature of the event, Victor Rodrigues will be conferred Daijidubai annual award with Rs 50,000 cash and a citation. Victor Rodrigues will personally receive this honor as he is expected to be in Dubai during April.
