Mangalore, Jan 20: Western Range IGP Suresh Babu has announced a cash prize of Rs 5,000 to the Anti Rowdy Squad police who were part of the police team that killed notorious criminal David alias Boxer in an encounter at Morgansgate on Thursday January 19 night.  IGP Suresh Babu congratulated the sleuths for their commitment and bravery.

He was speaking at a press conference held at Police Guest House on Friday January 20 morning.  He further said that the police had recovered a cell phone, two ATM cards and a motorbike from deceased David.  Since the motorbike did not have a number plate, details are being gathered to establish the identity of its owner, he said.

Addressing the press conference, he further said that police are in search of two more accomplices of the said underworld don. David had several complaints against him in the Kollam and other police stations of Kerala.  However, after coming to the city, he was working with Dharmendra Shetty of "Shetty Traders".  This had helped him to come in contact with the Middle East based underworld don.  Thus David was involved in various criminal activities and murder attempts in the district.

But with the arrest of Dharmendra Shetty and Navinchandra Alva, David had no other way than escaping from the police as the latter zeroed in on him after issuing a search warrant.
