Barbados confirms operations team for CPL T20

Bridgetown (Barbados), Jun 28 (IANS/CMC): Barbados has confirmed its full venue operations team for the Caribbean Premier T20 League (CPL) to be played from July 30 to August 24 in six countries across the region.

The team comprises Event Operations Officer Paul Skinner, media and accreditation officer Kevin Pile, ticketing coordinator Charmaine Hamilton and volunteer coordinator Nisha Burke.

The team will work alongside the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) for the home matches.

“Barbados will face the challenge of hosting the first game and therefore, in many ways, we see ourselves as the standard bearer and consequently, need to hold ourselves to the high standards laid down by CPL,” said Skinner.

“With the extremely competent and professional team we have assembled, I am confident that we can present a world class event in true Caribbean style.”

The league will feature an array of Caribbean and international stars contesting 24 matches, played across Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago.

Ninety players have been contracted to play in the CPL, with each franchise team comprising 15 players.

The Barbados Tridents will face the St Lucia Zouks in the tournament’s first game at the Kensington Oval following the opening ceremony on July 30.
