Bangalore, Jan 14: Indian pilgrims to Haj who died in the stampede at Mina, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday January 12, will be buried there as per the wishes of their families.

Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha and leader of the Haj Goodwill Delegation K. Rahman Khan, who is in Jeddah, told The Hindu that members of the goodwill delegation, the Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and the Indian Consul General in Jeddah on Friday January 13, visited the place where the stampede occurred.

The stampede occured at the eastern entrance of the "Jamarat". Arrangements were being made for the burial. Twenty-eight Hajis from India died and many were injured.

Mr. Khan expressed condolences to the families of the bereaved.
