Mangalore, Jan 14: Mangalore Bishop Fr Aloysius Paul D'Souza called upon the education institutions to thrust upon moral values for the welfare of the society.

He was speaking at decennial celebrations of Meredian College and workshop on methods of research organised at Balmatta Sahodaya hall. SDM Business Management College principal K Devaraj said motto of colleges is not to make only money but to provide education for the overall development of student. There is confusion without knowing the difference between literacy and education. The education should inculcate self-confidence in students to face any challenges in the society.

Meredian College director Jobi E C presided. St Aloysius Pre-university College prof Fr Frederick D'Souza also spoke on the occasion.

Yenepoya Education Institutions managing director Yenepoya Abdullah Kunhi was also present.
