Mangalore, Jan 13: Navinchandra Alva, said to be an accomplice of an underworld don operating from the Middle East and South Africa, was arrested by sleuths of Anti-rowdy Squad on Thursday January 12 night.  The police have seized a loaded revolver and a car from the arrested.

Navinchandra, a resident of Tiruvail Guttumane near Vamanjoor here is said to have been running a canteen each near Mangala and Colaco Hospitals in the city.  The police on Thursday evening received a reliable tip-off that he possessed a revolver.  Accordingly they arrested him around 9 in the night near Mangala Nursing Home here. 

The police then seized the revolver, which was in his Esteem car.  The police sources said that Navinchandra had no license to possess a revolver.

He has now been handed over to Kadri police for further interrogation.
