Nellyady, Jan 13: In an accident that took place in the wee hours of morning on Thursday, a woman died when a Tata Sumo in which she was travelling overturned at Lavathadka bend near Nellyadi.

The deceased has been identified as Meharunnisa (80) from Bangalore. The other passengers of the Sumo, Zabin (60) and Vazeem (15) too were injured and are being treated at Nellyadi hospital.

Residents of Ashwathpur, Bangalore, the victims were bound for Ullal dargah in Mangalore. It is said the driver lost control over vehicle at Lavathadka bend and the Sumo overturned.

The Sumo was carrying three men, three women and two children. The others have not sustained any injuries. Uppinangady police are taking further steps.
