Beltangady, Jan 12 (5-45 pm): The 25th Annual Day and inauguration of the silver jubilee year of Sacred Heart PU College Madantyar near here was held on Thursday January 12 morning.

The formal programme commenced at 9.30 in the morning.  Fr Valerian Frank, correspondent of the college presided over the function while Fr Wilson V D'Souza, secretary, Catholic Board of Education, Mangalore was the chief guest of the programme.

The programme began with the prayer hymn by the students of the PU section, which was followed by welcome speech by Leo Noronha.  After the welcome, college principal Mathew N M presented the college report.  Before Fr Lawrence D'Souza, administrator, Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Mangalore inaugurated the silver jubilee year, B Madhukar Mala, presented a bird’s eye view of the birth and growth of the college in the last 25 years. 

The stage programme also included the prize distribution ceremony and felicitation to the guests other than the speeches by the president and the guests.

At the end of the stage programme Hemlatha K U proposed the vote of thanks. History lecturer Arun Furtado compered the programme.

A colourful cultural programme for about 2 hours was put up by the college students after the stage programme.
