Mumbai: 'Sanjeevini' released at Karnataka Sangha Hall

Mumbai, Jun 12: Sanjeevini, an autobiography of renowned Kannadiga Dr Suresh S Rao Kateel, managing director of metro based Sanjeevini Hospital and chairman of Association of Medical Consultants – Mumbai, was released during the valedictory function of sixth Maharashtra Kannada Sahitya Sammelan here on Tuesday June 11.  The Sammelan was organized by Kannada Sahitya Parishat – Maharashtra unit, in association with Karnataka Sangh – Mumbai and Mumbai University Kannada department.

Prakash Bhat, key sponsor of Ramakata Samiti of Mumbai affiliated to Ramachandrapura mutt, Gokarna released Sanjeevini, an autobiography of Dr Suresh Rao and Soujanya, an autobiography of Dr.P.G.Rao in the presence ofSwami Vidhyadishateerta, Swami Vidhya Prasannateerta, Swami Vishveshateerta.

Dr Suresh Rao was conferred the title Humane Doctor and Dr P G Rao was conferred the title Doctor of downtrodden during the programme. Dr Suresh and Vijayalaxmi Rao couple, Dr P G Rao and Leelavati couple were felicitated at the same occasion.
 
The litterateur Bannanje Govind Acharya in his presidential address said that the nation has loved the spirituality aspects propagated by different faiths including contemporary sages Ramanuja, Shankaracharya, Madwacharya, Buddha, Mahaveer.   He also expressed happiness over successful holding of seminar on Indian contemporary visionaries in the metro.
 
The ancient Indian enjoyed freedom of thoughts, said Govind Acharya.  Hinduism has atheist, Shiva worshipers etc, but it has the freedom of expression and thoughts that is not found in any religions of world.  The natives of coastal district settled in metro have embodied the culture, while H B L has the person to bond everyone, added Govind Acharya.
 
‘The Sammelans bring great honour to Kannada literature.  It’s a worthy act to felicitate those who do yeomen service for humanity.  It gets real meaning in honoring people’s medicos such as Dr Suresh Rao and Dr P G Rao.   These medicos save the lives, while the litterateurs help to lead lives culturally.  The need of the hour is to maintain dignity in literature, since TV serials are not good for family viewing.  The Sammelans are helpful to create excellent literatures in this Kaliyug, said Govind Acharya.
 
Swami Vidhyadishateerta said that he wanted to see better shows in Karnataka similar to Kannada Sahitya Parishat – Maharashtra unit who are striving hard to foster Kannada culture in metro.  Mumbai Kannadigas deserves commendation in this regard, said Swami Vidhyadishateerta.
 
Swami Vidhyaprasannateerta said that Mumbai Kannadigas have set an example for native Kannadigas with their contribution to Kannada culture.  They have indeed fostered Kannada culture among their new generation, said Swami Vidhyaprasannateerta.
 
Vidwan Hiranna venkatesh said that Kannada has its grammatical limits that should be clarified with authenticity.  It needs also bartering of few words, said Vidwan Hiranna.  The entrepreneur Nagendra Acharya released the music CD of Vidushi Sangeeta J Kakandi.

Kateel Durgaparameshwari temple chief priest Laxminarayan Asranna, Kannada Sahitya Parishat Dakshina Kannada district president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, NKES education institutions Wadala chief trustee K Manjunatayya, Vidwan Hiranya Venkateshwar Bhat, Maharashtra unit honorary secretary Dr Karunakar Shetty, joint secretary S K Kundar, treasurer P Umesh Rao, cultural division head Sahana Bharadwaj and others were present.  Dr Shruti Rao, S K Urwal, Prafulla S Urwal and others were felicitated at the same occasion.
 
The dance troupe of Guru Amita Jatin Kala Mandir staged dance recital, Pooja Devadiga staged saxophone musical concert, the granddaughters of H B L Rao staged dance shows and Sangeeta J Kakandi staged Sugama Sangeet programme as part of cultural programme.

The metro based Billawar Association vice president Nityanand D Kotian welcomed the gathering.  Kannada Sahitya Parishat – Maharashtra unit president H B L Rao delivered the introductory address.  Aruna N Acharya read the felicitation letter.  Vedamurti Pernankila Haridas Bhat and Anuradha Rao compered the programme.  Kannada Sahitya Parishat – Maharashtra unit literary division head N R Rao proposed vote of thanks.
