Egypt keeps perfect record in World Cup qualifying

Harare, Jun 10 (IANS): Egypt secured a fourth straight win in the 2014 World Cup football qualifying after beating Zimbabwe 4-2.

In Sunday's qualifier in Harare, Egypt scored the first goal early but Zimbabwe soon levelled the match. However, Egypt's lead was firmly restored by Mohamed Salah's hat-trick, reports Xinhua.

In the Egypt-Zimbabwe head-to-head history, Egypt have seven wins, four draws, and only one loss in the 12 games played. Egypt have never lost to Zimbabwe since 1992.

Egypt top Group G with 12 points, leading all other African teams in the World Cup qualifiers. They are on track to enter the playoffs before returning to the World Cup final after 20 years of absence.
