Kundapur, Jan 5: Noted sandalwood actress Rakshita's visit to Shri Mookambika Temple at Kollur near here was overshadowed by a freak incident with the police arresting her car driver with regard to an earlier crime on Wednesday January 4.  Though Rakshita and her family members reached the temple safely later on, the sudden incident took every one present by surprise.

Rakshita, self-proclaimed devotee of Mookambika Devi later visited the temple along with her parents and brothers.  She offered puja and 'tulabhara' service in the temple.

Earlier Rakshita and her family members hired a car from Mangalore to go to Kollur.  As the car reached Kundapur, the Special Police Troupe arrested the car driver.  Everyone present was taken aback by the arrest.  Later on police confirmed that the driver had been involved in the theft of a generator from the fish-processing unit at Kavvadi.  Police were on hunt for him for sometime now.  However, a  tip off from one of his accomplice proved very crucial in the arrest of the driver.

But the police arranged another driver to Rakshita's car so that her plans to visit the temple were not changed.
