Woman commits suicide as husband watches on webcam

Mumbai, May 24 (NDTV): 27-year-old Shobhana Surati in Mumbai committed suicide by hanging herself; her partner Swapnil Surve was witness to the tragedy on webcam.

The incident took place yesterday after the couple who were chatting online reportedly had an argument. They were said to be arguing about his parents who refused to accept their marriage, forcing them to live apart.

According to Surve, she then declared that she could not live anymore and hanged herself from the fan in the room.

Her sister says she got a call from Surve telling her to check on Shobhana, who in turn called the neighbours.

Police say the couple had secretly married in court recently, but the woman had continued to stay with her parents.

Her parents have alleged that there was a demand for dowry from Surve's family, and as per their complaint, a dowry death case has been registered at the Juhu police station.

Surati's laptop has been seized and sent for examination. No one has been arrested yet.

Yes, you have said it right. We use technology to communicate, but there is no meaningful communication. Lack of understanding of each others problems, lack of patience, and a zeal to have ones own way.

It's sad to hear about the loss of the innocent but this is completely foolishness. When they start to love each other, they started from their Hearts call, even both are matured enough, if the Boy or his family ask/demand unwanted things, no need of worry or this action. Because this world is so big and she is brave enough to live in. Misunderstanding take the beautiful life of "Shobhana Surati" when she start to love she would have taken enough time, for nothing she did the worst thing in her life. Even when her Husband/Friend comes to know the incident going to happened, he would have take quick action to save her, if he loved her from his Heart. Here all can make out how selfish is the Husband's heart, he will suffer and cry for life time because the Young Blood will keep on cry and even her Parents. Her parents took so much troubles to bring her up, She may escape from this world's trouble but the beautiful life in other world she have to struggle. No one can say RIP to her because against God's wish/will, she made mistakes and taken decision. "God" give her beautiful life and to witness to him to the World but she fails in her duty. Anyway, my/our part is to pray for her damaged "SOUL" rest all in God's Mercy. But I will pray to God, to grant peace and cur-rage to her parents and family members, friends also all her loved ones to over come the lose of their loved one. Amen
