Producer C.V. Kumar to turn two shorts into feature films

Chennai, May 21 (IANS): Producer C.V. Kumar, who has already introduced two short filmmakers into the industry with projects like "Pizza" and "Soodhu Kavvum", is set to turn two more shorts into feature films in Tamil soon.

"I have shortlisted two shorts which will be made into regular films soon. I will officially announce more details about the projects soon. I feel there is lot of potential and novelty in short films that needs to be used," Kumar told IANS.

"Most of these short films are made by aspiring filmmakers who are not only passionate about cinema but are willing to bring something different to the fore. They don't hesitate to experiment and that's precisely why most of them are successful," he added.

With three back-to-back hits - "Attakathi", "Pizza" and Soodhu Kavvum", Kumar as a producer, wants to continue what he is doing.

"I'm always on the lookout for short films and stories with strong content. If audiences have welcomed films such as 'Pizza' and 'Soodhu Kavvum', it means they are game for films with different experience. And as a producer, I want to give them that," said Kumar.
