Mumbai: Mookambika Temple renovation work begins

Mumbai, May 21: The first phase of the renovation works of Shree Mookambikadevi Temple began on May 15, 16.

Under the guidance of Vidwan B Shankarnarayana several rituals were performed and the idol of goddess Mookambika was temporarily shifted to the newly built building.

Working president of the Temple renovation committee Modushedde Shri Vishwanatha Shetty and his wife took part in the several rituals.

Chief advisor of Temple renovation committee, administrator, Anni C Shetty, informed that the Temple Brahma Kalashostava will be held in February 2014’. Working president of Temple administrative committee, Chandrakanth Shetty said he would provide full support for the renovation.

On this occasion, administrative committee advisor Chandrahasa Shetty Ullasa Nagar, president Krishna J Poojary, vice president Gopal S Hegde, secretary Muddu K Kotiyan, treasurer Monappa Poojary , renovation committee vice presidents, donors, advisors, members and several devotees were present.

President Krishna J Poojary lauded the efforts of the committee members for their contribution.
On May 23, at around 10.30 am there will be foundation stone laying ceremony of the Temple. Vastu specialist Mahesh Muniyangala Puttur and sculptor Vishwanatha Jokatte will be present on the occasion, said Renjala Gopala Krishna Hegde.
