We look lovely on-screen: Deepika Padukone on Ranbir

Mumbai, May 19 (PTI): Actress Deepika Padukone, who will be seen romancing her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani', says, they look good on-screen as they are compatible with each other.

The 27-year-old actress has previously worked with Ranbir in 2008 film 'Bachna Ae Haseeno'.

"The fact that we are comfortable with each other is why we chose to do a film together whether there is an intimate or romantic or angry or action scene... it does not change. Ayan (director) knows us best and if he would have felt that we would be awkward or uncomfortable, then he wouldn't have cast us," Deepika said in an interview here.

"When you are doing a scene, you don't think he or she was my ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend. He is there as Bunny and I am there as Naina in the film..we are there as two characters in the film and we have to do our scenes sincerely," she said.
Looking at the promos of their upcoming film, one can't miss on the chemistry that the ex-lovers share on screen.

To which Deepika says, "Chemistry is always there in characters. When people go and watch a film they feel the hero and heroine are looking good together... a lot of it is because of the chemistry, the lines and performance that we have to deliver. Chemistry is intangible.. either you have it or not."

"We are fortunate that we (Ranbir and I) have a good on screen chemistry. It feels good that people have liked us in the promos. And I hope it has nothing to do with we being ex-lovers. We are compatible, we look lovely on screen. He (Ranbir) is a wonderful co-star, we had lot of fun," she said.

'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' is directed by Ayan Mukherjee and releases on May 31.
