Publicity designer K. Brahmananda Rao is dead


Chennai, Mar 17 (IANS): Renowned publicity designer K. Brahmananda Rao, brother of poster designer Eswar Rao, passed away Saturday night after prolonged illness here. He was 67.

"He was suffering from brain haemorrhage and was hospitalised for over two months. He passed away last night (Saturday) after we brought him home Friday evening," Eswar, his brother told IANS.

"We came to Chennai from Pallakollu in Andhra Pradesh in the late 1960s and since then we have been living here. He has worked with me in over 1,000 films across five languages. While he used to write the captions for the title of the film, I used to design the poster", he added.

Some of Brahmananda's best work includes films such as "Shiva", "Swati" and "Sur Sangam".

He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
