Nakul most energetic actor: Arivazhagan

Chennai, Mar 16 (IANS): He was a stout boy in his debut Tamil romantic-drama "Boys" over a decade ago but director Arivazhagan Venkatachalam now considers him the most energetic actor in the Tamil film industry.

"Nakul is the most energetic actor both on and off screen. It is this very quality of him that prompted me to cast him in my film 'Vallinam'. Most importantly, the character he essays in the film requires him to be energetic as well," Venkatachalam told IANS.

Nakul plays a basketball player in the film, which as the director puts it, is a sports-drama set against a college backdrop.

"It's a challenging role for which he underwent months of training. The sport in the film is used to intertwine and narrate different contextual references such as friendship, romance and social awareness," he added.

The film also stars Mrudhula Basker, Atul Kulkarni, Siddharth Jonnalagadda, Amzath Khan, Jagan and Anupama Kumar.

Shot predominantly in Madurai and Coimbatore, "Vallinam" is getting ready for release in April. It is produced by Aascar Ravichandran.

S.S Thaman has composed the music for the film, which has cinematography by Bhaskar.
