Mumbai: Chembur Karnataka Sangha hosts Sahitya Sahavasa programme

Mumbai, Feb 25: “Peoples’ minds are filled with junk thoughts.  It is owing to present media who are providing unnecessary information; the peoples’ consciences are at cross roads which is the root cause of social evils in the society.  The matters that promote brotherhood and peace in humanity make life bearable,” said Kannada renowned poet, story writer and intellect Jayant Kaikini.

Jayant Kaikini was delivering his chief guest’s address during Sahitya Sahavasa-2013 programme, which was organized by Chembur Karnataka Sangha at Karanataka High School, Fatla Village, Chemboor, here, recently.

Jayant Kaikini after presenting Rastria Kannada Ratna Prashasti-2013 to Sudhir V Shetty, chairman of Charisma Builders, social activist and philanthropist, in delivering the late Subbayya Shetty endowment lecture, said that one has to find the qualities of mother in father.  If one achieves this, the world will become a heaven on earth.  The education should not become mere studies instead fill the mind with love and empathy for fellow beings, he said.

Meanwhile, Jayant Kaikini commended the yeomen service of Kannadigas settled in suburban Chembur for organizing Sahitya Sahavasa-2013, with their genuine love towards mother tongue Kannada.

Chembur Karnataka Sangh president Prabhakar B Bolar in his presidential address said that the contributions of fellow Kannadigas are significant for the successful organizing of community programmes which was proved in Sahitya Sahavasa-2013.

Sudhir V Shetty in recognition of felicitations urged the parents monitor the activities of their children that will have positive effects on both.

Lata Sudhir Shetty was the guest of honour, presented Y G Shetty top teacher Award to Malini Bailoor and Subbayya Shetty Endowment Award to Nitya Prakash Shetty during the programme.

The folk dances were staged by the artistes of Natyam Nilayam led by Guru Balakrishna Manjeshwar at the same occasion.

Chembur Karnataka Sangh vice president lawyer H K Sudhakar, honorary treasurer Devdas K Shettigar were present on the dais.

Sruti Manjeshwar led the prayer song. The honorary chief secretary Vishwanat S Shenava welcomed the gathering.  The joint secretary T R Shetty and Sudhakar Anchan introduced the guests. The cultural sub Committee secretary Dayasagar Chowta compered the programme.  The honorary joint treasurer Sundar N Kotian proposed the vote of thanks.
