I don`t have time to look back, says Vivek Oberoi

New Delhi, Feb 19 (PTI): His career might have been lying low lately but actor Vivek Oberoi says he has a lot to look forward as he gears up for three big releases this year.

The 36-year-old`s past few releases like ‘Prince’, ‘Rakht Charitra’ and ‘Kismat Love Paisa Dilli’ did not do well at the box office but Vivek thinks it is not a time to dwell on the past.

"I don`t look back, what has happened is done. It is not my time to look back just yet, probably when I am too old in the industry I will do that. But right now I just want to look forward and concentrate on good work. 2013 has lot of good work in store for me. I don`t have time to look back," Vivek told PTI.

The actor, who was recently seen in `Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story`, has gangster drama ‘Zilla Ghaziabad’, ‘Krrish 3’ and comedy ‘Grand Masti’ releasing this year.

He plays "super villain" in Rakesh Roshan`s ‘Krrish’ franchise and a school teacher-turned-rebel in ‘Zila Ghaziabad’.

"I play this super villain in `Krrish 3` and it is a very dark and intense character. I have never done anything like this before. In fact, on the first day of the sets, Hrithik told me that he wanted to do this role initially so it was a huge compliment. I think I am very lucky to get that part.

"In `Zila Gaziabad` I play a school teacher, who focuses on improving the lives of children around him. But he is dragged into gangster trouble and that is when he drops his pen and picks up the gun. It is more of a rebellious role."

Besides movies, Vivek is busy with his new born son these days and he says it is difficult to leave his family and concentrate on work.

"It is an unbelievable feeling. I thought I was prepared for it but actually I am not. I want to be with him always and it kills me to get away from him. I may be busy with shootings but my mind is always back home," he said.

With almost a decade in the industry, Vivek has had only a few hits in his kitty but he insists he is not let down by his failures.

"These past few years, the idea was to sit back, reassess what went wrong and what kind of movies I want to do from here on. Also success and failure are a part of any job, you just have to learn to take it in your stride and with dignity. I want to be honest towards my work and work harder."

Vivek has also tried his hands in movie production with the film ‘Dekh Indian Circus’, but says it is not something he plans to take up full time.

"I have been in the industry for 10-years and have some equity and I feel it is important to promote young talent. Times are changing in the industry and we need new people. If something interesting comes up I will definitely put my support behind it," he said.
