'Babel' wins album of the year Grammy


Los Angeles, Feb 11 (IANS): British indie rock band Mumford & Sons' "Babel" was named album of the year at the 55th Grammy awards ceremony here, while musician Gotye's "Somebody that I used to know" won the record of the year title. The song of the year trophy was bagged by "We are young".

"Babel", produced by Markus Dravs, is the second album by Mumford & Sons. It pipped over other nominees, including The Black Keys' "El Camino", Frank Ocean's "Channel Orange", Jack White's "Blunder Buss" and "Some Nights" by Fun.

"Somebody that I used to know" by Gotye featuring Kimbra also got the gong in the best pop duo/group performance category.

The Grammy awards ceremony was held here Sunday.
