Nargis will Surprise Everybody in 'Madras Cafe': Shoojit Sircar

Mumbai, Jan 2 (IANS): Nargis Fakhri, who made her acting debut with "Rockstar", will now be seen in Shoojit Sircar's "Madras Cafe". The filmmaker says she will surprise everyone in the role of a journalist.

"Nargis suited the role and I can assure you that she is going to surprise everybody with 'Madras Cafe'. She is playing a journalist in the film," Sircar told IANS.

The film was earlier titled "Jaffna".

Nargis will be seen opposite John Abraham in the movie.

An unusual pairing indeed. No?

"I can't reveal the story, but it was the demand of the script. You will get to know once you see the film. I hope the audiences like this pairing," said Sircar, known for films like "Yahaan" and "Vicky Donor".

The first schedule of "Madras Cafe" is over. It has been shot extensively in south India. The second schedule will commence from March and will be shot in Mumbai, south India and abroad.

Sircar says the team has plans to rope in southern superstar Mohanlal for a particular role in "Madras Cafe".

"We are in talks with him. There is a very important role in the film for which we need Mohanlal. Now let us see how things fall in place. Nothing has been finalised right now," he added.
