Founder and honorary chief secretary of Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha, Maharashtra and Daijiworld Mumbai bureau chief Rons Bantwal has been honored with ‘Patrakar Ratna’ award.

The award has been jointly instituted by Saavadhan, an association engaged in social service, and 'Nava Chintan'. Rons was recently honored with International Person of the Luminary’ at the 7th international cultural convention held at Bangkok in the month of July.
 
Rons cultivated his talent as a cartoonist in Mumbai during 1994. Later he set up Ronida Press Media Pvt Ltd Company, of which became the chairman and managing director. He was among the first ones to introduce electronic media and spot reporting in Kannada journalism.
 
He was also honored with ‘Swarna Padaka’ award at a programme jointly organized by Mumbai University Kannada Department and Karnataka Sahitya Academy, Bangalore. Rons Bantwal is also recipient of ‘Parivarthan Prathistan Puraskar 2011’ of Parivarthan Prathistan Mumbai and ‘Sadhaka Journalist’ by Karnataka Beary Sahithya Academy. He was honored with Swastik Sambrama state award and Divo Sahitya Puraskar in 2007.
 
Rons has been felicitated by various organizations like B S K B Association Mumbai, Rastriya Billavara Maha Mandala, Bharath Co-operative Bank Limited, Shafi Welfare Association Mumbai, Safallya Seva Sangha Mumbai among others.
