Former Brazil Boss Dunga Set for Coaching Return

Rio de Janeiro, Nov 26 (IANS): Brazilian top-flight club Internacional is this week expected to appoint former Brazil coach Dunga for the 2013 season.

Dunga, a member of Brazil's 1994 World Cup-winning team, has not coached since his sacking following the Selecao's quarterfinal exit at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, reports Xinhua.

Internacional president Giovanni Luigi said an offer had been made to Dunga, with the club hoping for a reply "as soon as possible".

"We are waiting for a response so that in the next few hours we can have a final position," Luigi said Sunday.

"We want to announce it immediately, if possible on Monday or Tuesday."

The Porto Alegre outfit slipped to ninth in Brazil's Serie A standings Sunday following a 0-2 home loss to Portuguesa. It came just five days after the club sacked coach Fernandao, who replaced Dorival Junior in July.
