Arvind Kejriwal's Party Named Aam Admi Party

New Delhi, Nov 24 (PTI): Arvind Kejriwal's party was today named 'Aam Admi Party' at a meeting of its founder members here during which the Constitution for the organisation was also adopted.

The meeting of around 300 founder members was held at Constitution Club here during which Kejriwal proposed the name of the party which was accepted by other members, sources said.

The Constitution of the party was also adopted at the meeting. It was proposed by Mayank Gandhi and seconded by Chandramohan, they said. The formation of the party came after a bitter split with Anna Hazare over the question of the anti-corruption movement taking a political plunge as Kejriwal desired.

During the August fast, Hazare and Kejriwal ended the agitation saying they will work for providing a political alternative for the country to fight both Congress and BJP. However, both Hazare and Kejriwal announced parting of ways on September 19 following differences over forming a party with the former sticking to his position that the movement should remain apolitical.

On October two, Kejriwal announced the formation of the party saying its official launch will be on November 26, the day Constitution was adopted in 1949. Ahead of the meeting, Kejriwal said today that common men, women, children are forming their party.

"They are not politicians. They are fed up of politicians. They are the people who are fed up of corruption and price rise. This is why the common man has decided to challenge them. Now the common man will sit in Parliament. "Party's vision is Swaraj. People should get the 'raj'. That vision will be finalised. 25-30 issues will be discussed which all issues need to be taken first by the party. Committees will be formed. They will make drafts in four-five months. There will discussions through the country," he said.

Activist Yogendra Yadav said that the party will have provisions against domination by one family. The meeting also saw some disagreement among a section of workers who were not allowed to attend it. A group from Tamil Nadu was seen arguing with a party coordinator on why they were not accommodated.

A member of the Tamil Nadu group said they were not against the party but their problem was with the way in which delegates from the state were selected. "There is an issue. We have objection to the manner in which people were selected for the meeting," the member said.

A group from West Delhi's Tilak Nagar also voiced their disapproval about the way in which delegates were selected. "They talk about change and transparency. But where is transparency? When we enquired about the meeting, we were told by West Delhi coordinator that there is no such meeting. How did they select delegates for the meeting. They selected their cronies," said supporters Mohan Aggarwal and Sudhir Singh.

Arvind Kejriwal and like minded people have sacrificed a lot to bring a change in the present political system by Gandhian way doing Anshans & protests but of no use. There was no other alternative than to form a political party and bring the right, honest, selfless people in the Parliament. Unfortunately, people like Anna, Kiranbedi, Ramdev,A K Singh, have kept away themselves from this party, they must understand the feelings of people and join hands with Kejriwal.

It is unfortunate that some persons are speaking so lightly about Kejriwal's Aam Admi Party. In a nation where all are after money, Kejriwal who was an IAS officer resigns for the sake of the country. He is a patriot which should be recognised by each and everyone. His sacrifice has no comparision. Now atleast we can have a political party which represents the Aam Admi. Let us vote him to power and save this nation from being sold out to FDI's, multinationals in the near future. Please remember that 2% of world's population is enjoying 80% fo world's wealth and these 2% are taking charge of the entire universe. The bureaucrats, politicians are falling easy prey to these selfish 2%. Hence it is in our own interest to make the voice of the 98% be heard through Aam Admi Party. Earlier there was no one to question the wrongs done by our babus but now Kejriwal is pointing out all their mistakes. LET TRUTH ALONE PREVAIL.

Initial trouble at the party meeting was definately created by some persons sent by the Congress & BJP so that this new party gets a bad name. This is because the two biggest Corrupt parties have started shivering as they have realised that people have now woken up and that their game of fooling the public will not work any longer. So lets send our goons and create some trouble for KejriwaL & Co. People, please note : Congress & BJP are the two faces of the same coin & both are totally corrupt.

Look at gulf countries...due to one ruler we have best law & order, best roads and bridges and less competition to share revenue! In our India...every party leader wants to amass for seven generation by looting tax payer! I believe British gave us best possible quality railway, bridges and roads. Though technology has grown...our modern developers(PWD) struggling to match age old quality!!!!

Aam Admi Party (AAP) I understand it stands for "Common Man's Party" The Name will not have all India appeal specially in South India, not because of Arvind Kejriwal but for the name. I hope (AAP)is secular party, abiding by the constitution.
Other issue is that SO MANY PARTIES & LEADERS, many won't be elected, without job, some become crazy & ANTI SOCIAL ELEMENTS.
IT IS HIGH TIME TO ADOPT TWO PARTY SYSTEM WITH STATE FUNDING TO PREVENT CORRUPTION.
However, as a principle, not to POUR cold water on somebody's enthusiasm if cause is for good wish AAP all the best in your endeavor to serve the people.

Congress given chance to its members and allies to enjoy corruption and every one is happy about, no early chance for the split within. BJP is giving the chance for communal to regain power also seeking opportunity, but does not interested in LOKPAL. Then who will bring the justice to us? 2G scam is now turning into gain? How much you have bribed now to change the whole scenario? post of CBI director is like a simple Hawaldar as you like? you can keep your own person to change the probe into your side? No rumors of Multi Billion Lakhs lying in Swiss banks? How a common man can forget these? No other way to elect AAP than any other in coming election. How our great Dr. Ambedkar drafted a very neutral Constitution of India, likewise the core group of this party should create a still stronger Memorandum of Association, Rules and Regulations, Bye – Laws, required members in functional General Body and Governing Body etc. so that nothing can shake the functioning of this dynamic ‘Aam Aadmi Party’.
Even during internal nomination there should not be any kind of influence factor to favour a particular party worker and if found so, such candidate should be disqualified. There should be democracy at every step and all ions should be through nomination and ballot box with balanced members from all the regions of India according to their population. I wish this new Aam Aadmi Party all the best and it brings great hope for the common men.

“Leading the Mass” or “Mass leads You” there are two fundamental differences in any Morcha whether it is Political or Non-Political. When they formed group called “IAC”, entire Nation followed Anna and Kejriwal Team. But when Kejriwal wants to lead the Mass then controversy or indifference exists in the very first “Aam Admi Party” Meeting. During Freedom fighting too, both Nehru and Sardar Patel were the firm follower of Gandhi. Nehru always listen to Gandhi and obeyed his advise where as Patel always listen to Gandhi but took his own decision when dealing with British or then with our own people after freedom. Kejriwal realized that without Political Party, in country like India social issues can’t be solved but Anna always kept himself away from Political Party and fought to ouster the concerned corrupt Political Leader relentlessly. Even Political Iron Person of Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar known for political demolition of any person opposing him but failed and scared away from Anna Hazare. Yes, we can recollect the slogan of Obama “Together we can” but in India “Can We?” is the big question mark

I think this is the bane of the Indian psyche... whatever anybody does, there is opposition and who-so-ever is in the position of power is pulled down... looks like either dictatorship or communism a la China or Russia seem to be the only solution for India's problems, whether political, economic or social!!!

Difference of opinion and lack of co ordination in the first meeting itself shows that future is very dark and path is full of problems.. Anyway good luck to the party.. Best way is to enact a strong lokpal bill and scare the corrupt politicians and send them behind the bars... bring electoral reforms, bi party system, minimum education for people reps, maximum of two terms for a person, retirement age at 70, right to rejection, right to recall and right to impeach the representative are some of the reforms that can tie the politicians from acting free will. We need a mass movement so that these electoral reforms are brought about and implemented. No regional parties.. regional parties to be allowed only for state elections and in the national level we should have only two parties, thats ruling and oppostion...can we have these????
