Thackeray Improves, Mumbai Returns to Normal Life

Mumbai, Nov 16 (IANS): Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray's condition showed signs of improvement Friday, leading to normalcy returning to the city and crowds outside his residence thinning.

Thackeray's son and Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray will address the media later in the day to give an update on the 86-year-old's health.

As news of his improving health spread, normal activities resumed after the spontaneous near-total shutdown Thursday. The thousands of Shiv Sena workers who had gathered outside the Thackeray residence Matoshri in Bandra east also began dispersing.

At 11 p.m. Thursday, Uddhav Thackeray informed the restive crowds that his father's condition was stable.

"He is stable and we are doing everything we can...His health is improving...He is better than yesterday...We have still not given up hopes," Uddhav declared before the large crowd of activists and mediapersons.

"We are all praying for him, and it is the strength of our prayers that will see him through this crisis," Uddhav said.

On Thursday, several party leaders had appealed for calm.

Thackeray has been under the care of a team of specialists from Lilavati Hospital at his home. According to party leaders, virtually an ICU had been created at Matoshri with all emergency equipment and medical and para-medical staff on duty round-the-clock.

Whatever it is people some time blindly hate Bala Sahaeb, I dont agree fully with him, but one thing for sure he is a man of principle, look at Mumbai, then or under the Shiva Sena, no communal tension, very few here and there, but he has not sowed hatred among religions, he has fought for mumbaikars, he hates pakistan, we all do, if we say no we are fools there can never be peace with the pakis, and mind u I have enough of knowledge with the pakistani people they hate Indians, they just want to make money out of India, just a small eg. of comedy circus where there were lots, of these stupid guys they earned their livehood and now are make jokes about India, they were just ordinary people sometimes people like mahesh bhat will make them celebrity, by Bala saheb was something, may he live long, I pray for his long life and good health and I wish we in mangalore have a man like Mr. Thackery, then we need not learn other regional languages to make a living, watch out this day will come its the case in Bangalore if let loose Mangalore is not far behind, Greed might destroy us

That's good news that Bal Thackeray's health is coming back to Normal.
Let us all gracefull accept that " on the day of our birth, one thing is guarenteed, that is our death" . When and how it happens is left to our Craetor up there. This is the belief of all of us, immeterial to our faith.
Let us pray for his recovery. But let us all be prepared for anything that can happen, without creating any harm to society and peace around the city.
    Long Live : Bal Thackeray.
