Mumbai, Nov 7: The Kannada Seva Sangha which is rendering social and educational service to the society from the past one and a half decade celebrated its 15th anniversary here at Solaris building in Powai on Sunday November 4.

On the occasion, the new office of the Sangha was inaugurated by Shankar B Shetty, president of Bunts Sangh, Mumbai at Solaris building. The office was blessed by Shree Suvarna Baba, Dharmashree of Shree Rundamalini temple.

The inauguration of the office was followed by a stage programme presided by DK Shetty, president of Kannada Seva Sangh. Thonse Jayakrishna A Shetty, founder of Jayashree Krishna Parisara Premi Samithi was the chief guest.

Sharad S Pawar, leader of MNS party, Surendra A Poojary, working president of Sai Care Logistics limited, Sudhakar S hegde, working president of Thunga group of hotels, LV Amin, Billawa association president, Keerthiraj S Salian, working president of Moghaveer cooperative bank limited, Appanna M Shetty, senior advocate Anand V Shetty, Ratnakar Shetty Mundkur, working president of Matraboomi credit society, Shekar Ajekar, prominent journalist were among the guests of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Shankar B Shetty lauded the efforts of the association. He said that the association is a role model to everyone.

“Let us love our caste and religion. But, we should also respect people of other religion”, said Jayakrishna Shetty.

On the ocassion, annual ‘Samaja Ratna’ award was given to Fr Sunil John D’Souza of Shankarpura,‘Kannada Jyothi’ award was given to senior writer, poet Kodu Boja Shetty and Prathiba Puraskar was given to Ankita Ramesh Rai.

Suleiman Ahmed Mallar, Srinivas M Shetty, Shekar T Shetty, Nilisha K Shetty, Naveen A Kotian, advocate R G Shetty, Jyothi R Shetty and Ramachandra Adappa were also honored for their services.

As part of the entertainment programme, Ranga Sudharshan Sasihithlu group under the guidance of Salian Sasihithlu performed on the song ‘Vande Mathara’. ‘Bhoomi Becchand’, musical drama was also performed. Children of various schools participated.

Ramesh D Rai, vice president welcomed; Nagaraj Gurpur, working president of education committee, Bhaskar Suvarna compered and Dayanand C Bangera delivered the vote of thanks.
