Inter End Juventus' Unbeaten Run while Milan Win

Milan, Nov 4 (IANS): Inter beat Juventus 3-1 to snap the Serie A leaders' 49-match unbeaten streak while AC Milan chalked up their first convincing victory so far this season with a 5-1 win over Chievo at home in Italian Serie A football.

Juve's goal by Arturo Vidal after 19 seconds served only to inspire Inter, who turned the game around in the second half to move to within a point of Juve at the top of the table Saturday, reports Xinhua.

Diego Milito was on target twice for Andrea Stramaccioni's side before Rodrigo Palacio sealed Inter's seventh win in a row in the last minute.

In the post-match press conference, Inter Milan head coach Andrea Stramaccioni hit out at Juventus for lack of respect.

"I tried to prepare the game in the best way possible and it is also annoying to hear sarcasm from Juve before the match on Inter's tactical approach. At the final whistle perhaps Marotta might think differently. I just want respect," he said.

"They were sarcastic comments about how I was 'tactically carefree' -- we prepare games in every detail during training," he said.

AC Milan built up some much-needed self-confidence ahead of an important Champions League tie with Malaga Tuesday thanks to a 5-1 win over Chievo.

Urby Emanuelson opened the scoring in the 16th minute, although the lead lasted only two minutes before Sergio Pellissier levelled.

Riccardo Montolivo and Bojan Krkic gave Milan a comfortable half-time lead before their top goalscorer Stephan El Shaarawy got his customary goal in the 75th minute. Giampaolo Pazzini added a fifth to wrap up victory with the last kick of the game.

AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri cut a relieved a figure and said his side "deserved a night like this".

"The team played well from start to finish. Technically and physically we were in good shape and above all, every player was at the disposal of the squad. It's an important thing to choose the right Milan," he said.

"After a crisis period, we really needed a night like this and deserved it too. We still have to improve in some aspects, but we're on the right track to do something good in a season that did not start well," he said.
