Mumbai: K'tka Hindu Family Convention Held in lieu of Vijay Dashami

Mumbai, Nov 2: 'Bharatha-Bharathi', a Karnataka Hindu family convention was held at the Radhabhai T Bhandari auditorium of Bantara Bhavana, Kurla East, on Sunday October 28 on account of the Vijay Dashami celebration.

RSS central working committee member, My Cha Jayadev inaugurated the programme and delivered the guiding speech.

It was highly appriciated for the Mumbai based kannadiga brothers and sistersgetting together and to organise such a beautiful programme, irrespective of caste, creed and religion.

There is a society beyond caste, religion and creed. There is a need to be recognised in that means and join hands for the upliftment of the society.

The culture and peace of the Hindu society has a history of thousands of years. Every part of the body is necessary for the overall development of the human body, like wise, all castes and subcastes of the society are needed for the develpoment of the Hindu Community in total.

RSS Leader, K Subrahmany Bhat gave a lecture on the topic, “Kutumba Prachodane” in a discussion session held later during the programme.

The lady leaders of different associations and trusts participated in the programme that was led by Dr Suneetha M Shetty.

The valedictory function commenced in the afternoon, presided over by businessmen, Sudhir V Shetty. RSS Konkan Division head, Sunil Sapre was the chief guest.

Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, retired president of Union Bank of India, M V Nair and Jayakrishna nature-lovers committee organiser, Jayakrishna A Shetty were the guests of honour.

My Cha Jayadev delivered the valedictory speech.

The Hindus have to alert to preserve the nation. Nations like England, Germany and others are following the Veda’s, however this is not happening in India, which is unfortunate.

"Youth need to be geared up for such sort of programmes so as to encourage them to build a strong nation", said Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.

The first Kannada organisations in Mumbai, namely, Srimadbharatha Mandali and Bombay Port Night Schools were honoured.

Subbayya Shetty for hotel business, Dr Sanjeev K Shetty for education and literature, M N Suvarna for dance, H B L Rao for associations, A H Shenoy and Chandrashekar Deshpande for social service, Suman Chiplunkar for Mudra Yoga, Polya Lakshminarayan Shetty for Yakshagana, Surendrakumar Hegde for dramatics and many others were also honored.

Harish Kumar M Shetty, Thonse Vijay Kumar M Shetty, K P Prabhakar L Shetty, Dhanajay P Shetty, Latha P Bhandary, and others were present.

Shankar Shetty welcomed the audience. V Gurunath Rao, Vijay Kumar Shetty and Ashok Pakkala compered the programme. G T Acharya proposed the vote of thanks.

The cultural programmes included a variety of shows by Chinnara Bimba Children Team, 'Jago Bharath' by Chakravarthi Sulibele and team and Yakshagana “Gadhayuddha” by Geethambika Yakshagana Mandali.
