Italy Beat Armenia 3-1 in World Cup Qualifier

Yerevan (Armenia), Oct 13 (IANS): Andrea Pirlo scored one goal and set up another as Italy laboured to a 3-1 win over Armenia in European zone football World Cup 2014 qualifying.

The match took place Friday in Hrazdan stadium which has a capacity of 50,000, reports Xinhua.

Pirlo converted a spot kick to put Italy ahead in the 11th minute following Hrayr Mkoyan's handball. But Armenia levelled in the 28th minute through Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The visitors restored their lead shortly after the hour mark when Daniele de Rossi headed in Pirlo's cross, before Pablo Osvaldo sealed the win with his third goal in as many qualifying matches.
