Vettel Wins Japanese Grand Prix


Suzuka (Japan), Oct 7 (IANS): German driver Sebastian Vettel in his Red Bull claimed the Japanese Grand Prix here Sunday.

The defending World Champion Vettel, starting from the pole position, led all the way from start to clinch the convincing victory, reports Xinhua.

Former World Champion Fernando Alonso in his Ferrari crashed out in the first corner of the first lap of the race, only to see his leading margin cut to four points by Vettel.

The Spaniard's teammate Felipe Massa hit the finishing line 20.6 seconds behind Vettel while Sauber's Japanese driver Kamui Kobayashi finished third in front of the local fans.
