Four Indians to Participate in Venetian Macau Open


Macau, Oct 6 (IANS): Four top Indian golfers will be taking part amongst a line-up of 50 Tour champions at the Venetian Macau Open to be held here from Oct 11-14.

The trio of Anirban Lahiri, Gaganjeet Bhullar and Digvijay Singh, who are current placed in the top 10 of the Order of Merit, will take part alongside Kolkata golfer SSP Chowrasia.

The field will be led by current Asian Tour No.1 Marcus Fraser, three-time Order of Merit winner Thongchai Jaidee and all-time tournament winner Thaworn Wiratchant.

Bangladesh's Siddikur, Prom Meesawat of Thailand and American David Lipsky, all three in top 10 of the Order of Merit, will tee up in the $750,000 Asian Tour tournament at the challenging Macau Golf and Country Club.

The tournament, inaugurated in 1998, is jointly organised by the Macau Sport Development Board and Macau Golf Association and sanctioned by the Asian Tour.
