Arjun promises 'Magical' F1 After-parties

New Delhi, Oct 6 (IANS): He has plans to expand his nightclub business in Mumbai and Singapore, but for now, Bollywood actor and businessman Arjun Rampal promises "magical" evenings at his refurbished luxury club LAP for the second Formula One Indian Grand Prix latter this month.

No traffic woes, no distance worries - Arjun is ready to invite the glitterati to his LAP, at the Samrat Hotel in the capital.

"We will create something magical. Ultimately it is about the aesthetics, it is about giving people a good experience, and for me, the most important thing is that whoever comes here, leaves with a smile on their face and feel it was worth it. I don't want them to say, 'Oh! The drive was too long to get in'. We want to get our back-end sorted," Arjun said here.

For the first F1 event, the official after-parties were held at the Jaypee Greens Golf and Spa Resort in Greater Noida, closer to the Buddh International Circuit, where the races took place.

Arjun had got a special, 20,000 sq ft construction erected for the glamourous party nights, but this year, he is upbeat about hosting it at a more central place.

"It was very difficult for people to come there and that were the maximum complaints we got. Right now, Noida still does not have the right kind of infrastructure. The parties were magical there, and trust me, they will be magical here as well," he said.

In 2012, international DJ Roger Sanchez performed on day one, Edward Maya on the second day and Tom Navy on day three. International pop star Lady Gaga led the momentum to a high with a finale performance, the basic ticket for which cost Rs.40,000.

The line-up for the after-parties this season is yet to be announced. Will it get better than Gaga?

"They will be as big. It will be different. This time I am going to go with a more DJ line-up because we are in a club and it makes more sense to do that because I can't set up a stage here. But there's an artist who sings and DJs as well," Arjun told IANS, without revealing any names.

He says the parties will be "little more exclusive", and will accommodate around 500 to 600 people at LAP.

The luxury, members only club reopened its doors just last week. With a new management and a few technical changes for the betterment of space and sound, it hopes to maintain its steady clientele and add more.

Arjun has lots of new plans for it too.

"We will be opening a LAP in Mumbai on top of a roof, and it would have open spaces. We are also opening one in Singapore. So now, the membership to the club makes sense as it makes the clubs worldwide more accessible," he said.
